Right to speak at meetings / Record a meeting

Have your say

Every key decision of Burnley Council is made at a Town Hall meeting which you are very welcome to attend.

(There are sometimes a few items of business that have to be dealt with in private. These usually involve confidential details on individuals, or commercially sensitive information. The reason for any item being ‘private’ is always explained).

You can arrange to ask a question, make a statement, or present a petition relating to any item on the agenda – or on any matter covered by the committee or Council.

To find out what each Committee does, take a look at Part 3 of the Coucil Consititution - downloadable on the right - or take a look at some of the Committee Agendas and Minutes to find out what is being discussed.

To speak at a meeting or commitee you will need to select one of the online forms listed below.

Request to speak at a Full Council, The Executive, Committees and Sub-Committees Online Form (you should complete this form by 5pm on the day before the meeting).

Request to speak at Development Control Commitee Online Form (you should complete this form by 5pm three days before the meeting).

Request to speak at Licensing Committee Online Form (you should complete this form by 5pm three days before the meeting).

You can also request to record a meeting .

A full leaflet about how you can 'Have Your Say' is downloadable on the right.
