What is an Area Action Plan? An Area Action Plan shows the possible future shape of your neighbourhood. The maps on this site show the ‘draft preferred option’ for your neighbourhood. Along with proposed housing redevelopment and refurbishment, it shows proposals for environmental improvements, transport, and community facilities, as housing market renewal is about more than just housing. This plan is very important because it allows you to have your say and shows roughly where environmental, transport and housing improvements are likely to take place, if and when funding becomes available. This ‘Draft Preferred Option’ is a starting point on the road to creating an Area Action Plan for your neighbourhood so Burnley Council will continue to work with you to build on this as part of the planning process, over the next few years. Nothing is set in stone The most important thing to remember about the draft Area Action Plan is that nothing is set in stone and that it can, and undoubtedly will change. Events and discussions have already taken place to gather your views and opinions and help to shape this Area Action Plan and there will be many more opportunities for you to comment and make your views known. If you have any concerns or worries, we will listen and explain every decision that has been taken. We will do everything we can to ensure everybody has the opportunity to have his or her say. Have your say Once you have had a good look at the interactive plans (above) or leaflets (below) please tell us your thoughts about the proposals on the map and the consultation process itself, so that we can develop the plan further. You can email your comments to areaactionplans@burnley.gov.uk please clearly indicate which area your comments are about. The leaflets include a feedback form.
