Family event in Burnley calls for stallholders

Release date:
Friday, 24 March, 2017

Local crafters and food vendors and buskers are being sought to take part in a family-friendly park event in May.

The Thompson Park Family Fun Day, organised by the Friends of Thompson Park, the Miniature Railway Society and Burnley Council, will take place on Sunday 28th May.

The parks boating lake, paddling pool and miniature railway will be open and there will be live music from the Accrington Pipe Band and local buskers.

The popular family event will give visitors the chance to browse an exciting range of stalls and enjoy entertaining activities for all ages.

The event will also host an exhibition of proposals for the restoration of Thompson Park, which commences in the autumn, following the successful bid from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

With preparation for the event well underway, organisers are keen to hear from experienced stallholders, charities, crafters and food vendors who want to take part.

Michelle Wolfenden, chair of the Friends of Thompson Park, said: “There's still time and space for traders and charities to come forward and take part. We'd love to hear from anyone who can sell bespoke goods or just want to promote their charity, so please get in touch.”

Stallholders interested in supporting the event must bring their own equipment including gazebo, table and chairs.

They must also provide a copy of public liability insurance and further necessary documentation, if a food trader.

Places are available to book from £10.Booking forms and more information about the event are available by contacting the greenspaces team on greenspaces@burnley.gov.ukor text Tracey on 07967 179 799.
