Household waste - domestic bins: Outline

Information on the bins used in the local authority area. If you have previously had a wheelie bin at your property but it is now missing or damaged, you can request a new one. The charge for a replacement bin is £23.40 and the wheelie bin should be delivered within 2 weeks.

Addition information: Bins used in Burnley and Padiham:

Blue boxes for glass, cans and plastic bottles
White hessian bag for collecting paper and cardboard.
Brown bin for garden waste (grass cuttings, leaves, plants, soil and small branches
Clear sack for textiles
Free compost bin (see link below)
Wheeled bin or refuse sacks for general household waste come in 2 sizes, 240 litre for a standard household and 360 litre for the larger household (conditions/assessments apply)
