The local authority are responsible for monitoring dog fouling and for initiating court proceedings against offenders.

Please keep a note of dates and times you witness owners letting their dogs foul and not cleaning up, with a brief description of the dog and the owner. This may help to identify those responsible. You can also report a problem with a dog litter bin.
Additional Information: Under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996, any person who permits a dog that is in their charge to foul any area to which the public has access is committing an offence. It is an offence for a dog owner not to clean up after their dog in these areas. Failure to comply can result in a prosecution and fine of up to £1,000 or the issue of a fixed penalty notice.
