Pennine Night Time Noise Service
Burnley residents are now able to sleep easier at night because Burnley Council has joined forces with other East Lancashire Councils to combat night time noise. The Pennine Night Time Noise Service is a partnership between Pendle, Burnley, Hyndburn, Rossendale, and Blackburn with Darwen Councils and the aim of the scheme is to have a more efficient and effective response to complaints about noise at weekends.
How Can This Help Me?
If you have previously registered a noise complaint with the Environmental Protection Team, and that complaint is being currently investigated, call the Pennine Night Time Noise Service (01254 353447), an officer on duty will then visit you and make an independent assessment of how severe the noise is. If the officer feels that the severity of the noise is actionable, then they will complete a report on the incident and forward that report through to the Environmental Protection Team the very next working day.
I Haven't Made a Complaint Before
If you have never registered a noise complaint before, and suddenly you experience noise which you feel is unreasonable, then there are various ways of contacting us and registering your complaint.
- Online Request for Service form,
- Telephone (01282 425011) office hours only
- Writing in, Environmental Protection, Planning & Environment, 1st Floor Parker Lane, Burnley Lancashire BB11 2DT
Once your complaint has been received, it will be logged on the system and an officer will contact you within 3 working days to discuss with you the noise problem and establish whether or not action can be taken.
Your details will then be entered onto the register, so that you can access the Pennine Night Time Noise Service should the problem persist.
