We are honoured to partner with Mid Pennine Art for the first Contemporary Heritage installation: Not Forgotten by nationally acclaimed artist Geraldine Pilgrim.
Contemporary Heritage is an ambitious programme set in seven
historic venues and their grounds across Pennine Lancashire. This
partnership project, initiated and managed by Mid Pennine Arts,
celebrates and champions the unique and special elements of each site by
commissioning artists of national and international standing to create
new works in response to the history, architecture, collections or
grounds of each venue.
The launch will take place at the Hall at Towneley Hall and Park on Saturday September 11 2010 between 1pm and 4pm. Lancashire cheese and refreshments will be available and there will be a chance to help create Memory Garden - a specially commissioned piece for visitors to the launch.
Not Forgotten will be on show at Towneley Hall and Park, Burnley until September 11 2011.
During the weekend September 9-12 2010 entrance is free for Heritage Open Days.
There is no charge for entry to the Grounds and Park.
