Burnley Council's Budget Book 2017-18

The following document gives full information of the Council's Revenue Budget for 2017-18 and the Council's Capital  Investment Programme (CIP)  for 2017/20.

How much is the council’s revenue budget?

The Revenue budget for 2017/18 was been approved by Budget Council on the 22nd February 2017 at a figure of £14.596 million compared with a figure of £15.223 million for 2016/17.

In achieving a balanced budget for 2017/18, the council identified ongoing revenue budget savings of £1.613m.

Approximately 44% of the net budget requirement is paid for by Council Tax payers.

The council tax was set for the year at £1,735.33 for a band D property. This represented a 3.3% increase from 2016/17.

The Burnley Council element of this was £283.04 (approximately 16.3%) and was a 1.9% increase from 2016/17.
