How much is the council’s revenue budget?
The Revenue budget for 2019/20 has been approved by Budget Council on the 20th February 2019 at a figure of £15.815 million compared with a figure of £15.089 million for 2018/19.
In achieving a balanced budget for 2019/20, the council identified ongoing revenue budget savings of £1.023m.
Approximately 47% of the net budget requirement is paid for by Council Tax payers.
The council tax was set for the year at £1,917.74 for a band D property. This represented a 4.7% increase from 2018/19.
The Burnley Council element of this was £300.22 (approximately 15.9%) and was a 2.99% increase from 2018/19.
