Burnley 10k - road closures

Release date:
Friday, 6 July, 2018
This year's Burnley 10k run is taking place on Sunday 15th July.

While organisers try their best to keep any disruption to a minimum, thousands of runners will be taking to local roads and there will be some short-term traffic delays on the morning of the event.

The route takes runners from Towneley Park, along Todmorden Road and Belvedere Road, through Thompson Park, along Queen Victoria Road and Ormerod Road, and back to Towneley.

Course director Tristan Batley-Kyle, of organisers Jane Tomlinson's RunForAll, said: "The sixth running of this popular event prmoises to be a great occasion.

"Unfortunately some roads will have to be closed for the safety of those taking part. We will work very hard to keep any inconvenience to a minimum and roads will be re-opened as soon as it's safe to do so. We apologise for any disruption caused."

Many people will be running for a good cause of their own choice or for one of the event's partner charities - the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Macmillan Cancer Support, Pendleside Hospice, Burnley Leisure Trust and Every Action Has Consequences.
