Release date:
Wednesday, 5 April, 2017

Burnley is set to hit the right note with three days of live music events during the Easter break.

The first ever Burnley Live Music Weekend in Burnley town centre kicks off on Good Friday, 14th April, with a series of free and low cost events.

The bumper weekend of entertainment will offer a line-up of live performances across town centre venues including the Paddock, Sanctuary Rock Bar, Remedy Gin Bar Burnley, Mojito’s, Mr Greens, Illuminati and the Inn on the Wharf, to name just a few.

On Friday people are in for a musical delight with sets from acoustic duo the Biscuit Brothers at the Paddock, and Keighley-based folk rock band Foxes Faux at Sanctuary Rock Bar.

Remedy Gin Bar, in association with Shift Radio, will be hosting a music night  with a host of acts including guitarist and singer Gareth Williams, folk and pop singer Katie O’Malley, and classical guitarist Steve Cook.

Mr Green’s Soul and Motown lounge is reliving the best music of the 80s and 90s night with live performers and DJs.

To top off the night, Illuminati bar will bring Ibiza vibes to Burnley with its house and dance music night featuring DJs Drew Moreland and Pat Hickey.

Saturday will see rock and metal bands battling it out at Sanctuary Rock Bar for a chance to play at the Bloodstock festival, with only two bands getting through to the semi-final.

Revellers at the Inn on the Wharf will be able to enjoy performances by the Real McCoy Lovers, and Weal, which have been organised in association with the Shift Events.

The Easter Sunday line-up includes an AC/DC tribute by Rocksters of Mock at Sanctuary Rock Bar, northern soul and motown vocalist Frankie Heart at Mr Greens, ‘Ibiza in Burnley’ at Vogue, as well as performances by Brassneck at Remedy Gin Bar and Roadkill Revival at Mojito’s.

There will also be live music In Burnley town centre in the run up to the event, including on Thursday 13th April and the form of The Two Man One Man band, and on Saturday 15th from the young popular duo OdAll.

Burnley town centre manager Catherine Price said: “We’re delighted to see so many pubs, bars and clubs across the town centre getting involved in Burnley Live Music Weekend.  The whole event showcases brilliant local music talent and our great town centre venues.

“The event will have something for everyone and we hope people from all over East Lancashire will make their way to Burnley to enjoy what is sure to be a fantastic weekend of live music.”

The event has been organised as a partnership between Burnley Council’s town centre management and town centre venues.
