Christmas Party switch-on was a festive cracker

Release date:
Tuesday, 20 November, 2018

Thousands of visitors flocked to Burnley to enjoy the annual Christmas party and lights switch-on.

The annual event was a massive success with the town centre packed full of festive goodies to wow the crowds.

Among the highlights were nine Christmas film themed ice sculptures (the Grinch was so popular he lost his arm because so many people were linking up with him!), a birds of prey display, performances by Bjorn the polar bear, a festive street market, Elf and Fairy training sessions on Burnley Market, music, dance and song on the performance stage, and of course Santa's grotto.

Feedback was hugely positive and the shops and stalls did a roaring trade.

With the trees and lights, it's starting to look a lot like Christmas in Burnley town centre.
