Which recycling "team" will you be on - boxes and bags, or bins?
We're improving the way we collect recyclable rubbish - a leaflet explaining the changes is being delivered to every house in the borough telling people about the improvements being made to our recycling collection service.
They will be coming through your letterbox shortly giving details about the new ways we will be collecting recyclable materials.
Some households will be switching to a new wheelie bin service while others are staying on the box and bag system but with improvements to address some of the issues you've raised.
You can find out which system you will be on, and more information, at www.burnley.gov.uk/recyclenow
New calendars setting out what will be collected on which dates over the following 12 months will be distributed next month - please keep them handy so you know what bin, bag or box to put out to avoid any confusion or missed collections.
For those getting wheelie bins for their recycling, those bins will be delivered in September, and the first collections under the new system will take place from 1st October. In the meantime please keep using your current blue box and white bag.
If you're staying on the box and bag system you will get new, improved white bags for paper and cardboard in November.
Your fortnightly claret wheelie bin (non-recyclable rubbish) collections will continue whichever system you are on.
