Summer garden party coming to Burnley town centre

Last year’s inaugural event was such a success organisers have decided to hold another Summer Garden Party in Burnley town centre - and everyone is invited.

The event will see the town centre transformed with music, dance, food, drink and craft stalls, gardening workshops, Wizard of Oz themed costume characters/street theatre, sand sculpture workshops, circus skills workshop, giant panda meet and greet, giant outdoor games and much, much more for all ages to enjoy.

The attractions will be situated throughout the town centre, including Burnley market hall and Charter Walk shopping centreon Friday/Saturday 26th/27th July, both from 10am.

The event is being organised by Charter Walk shopping centre supported by Burnley Council’s markets and town centre management teams.

Councillor Gordon Birtwistle, the council’s executive member for economy and growth, said: “Last year’s event was a great success and so we wanted to stage it again this year but make it bigger and better.

“It’s about attracting more visitors into the shopping centre and providing them with something imaginative and interesting to do and I hope people come along and enter into the spirit.

“We got the entertainment and stalls sorted; all we have to do now is book some proper English summer weather to make sure the days are sunny and warm!”
