Burnley residents on low incomes who need to self-isolate and are unable to work from home can now apply for the Government's test and trace support payment scheme, worth £500.
Apply if you earn less than:
- £813.54 per week (£42,304 per annum) if you are in a couple; or
- £406.77 per week (£21,152 per annum) if you are a single adult.
Parents or guardians who are not legally required to self-isolate can apply for a Test and Trace Support Payment or discretionary payment if they need to take time off work to care for a child or young person.

Residents are reminded that the Government also introduced new fines for those breaching self-isolation rules will start at £1,000 – bringing this in line with the penalty for breaking quarantine after international travel - but could increase to up to £10,000 for repeat offences and for the most egregious breaches, including for those preventing others from self-isolating.
