Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) are Local Development Documents which can be prepared to support development plan policies. SPDs may be area-specific or topic-based.
A number of new SPDs are proposed to support Burnley's Local Plan which was adopted on 31 July 2018. These include a Shopfront and Advertisement Design SPD, a Developer Contributions SPD, an Air Quality Management SPD and Residential Extensions SPD. These proposed SPDs were subject to a Screening Assessment which determined that their preparation did not require Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
The first of these new SPDs to be progressed was the Shopfront and Advertisement Design SPD which is now adopted and this is available to view through the page link below.
The second, on Developer Contributions is currently the subject of formal consultation and is vailable to view through the page link below.
