Other types of application

If the application seeks approval for any of the special types of control (Advertisements, Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, Trees, or approval of Reserved Matters following a previous outline application), then separate applications are required.

The storage of notifiable quantities of specified Hazardous Substances requires the consent of the Local Planning Authority.

If the proposal is for the erection of a building, an application may be made for "outline planning permission", where one or more of the following "Reserved Matters" may be left for future approval:-

  • siting
  • design
  • external appearance
  • means of access
  • the landscaping of the site

In relation to Trees within a Conservation Area, 42 days' notice must be given in order to allow a local authority to consider making a Tree Preservation Order (T.P.O.).

All work to trees subject of a Tree Preservation Order must be the subject of permission from the Local Planning Authority.
