Dog fouling upsets local residents, spoils the environment, and can even cause serious health problems particularly to children.
It is an offence to not clean up after your dog and you could be issued with a fixed penalty notice of £75. If taken to court, you could face a maximum fine of £1,000.
There are no excuses for failing to clean your dog’s mess – it takes very little time and effort. When walking your dog, make sure you always carry a ‘poop-scoop’ and a doggie bag. That is all you need to keep the town tidy.
We provide dog waste bins in throughout the borough at locations such as parks, pedestrianised areas, grass verges, open green spaces and public footpaths. We also check dog bins on a regular basis and empty them when required.
You can also use any litter bin to dispose dog waste with the condition it is properly bagged. If you would like to request a new dog bin please complete our online form or report an issue with a bin please complete our online form.
