If you have lost your dog, there are several things you can do.
Report the dog as lost to the police so they can keep a record and, hopefully, contact you should it turn up or be found. Please note that the police no longer take in lost dogs. This is Burnley Council's responsibility.
Ensure your dog has a correct identity tag and is microchipped so that it can be returned to you quickly.
Reports of lost dogs are checked against the found dog register so that the resident can be notified on the same working day whether their dog has been found and if so which kennels it can be collected from.
You can also contact the kennels that the council use, i.e. Aspen Valley, Accrington (01254 233 702), contact locals vets and other neighbouring authorities if you lost your dog near to local boundaries.
