The Council creates new street names and property numbers on housing and commercial developments. This includes developments of large estates and single properties. The Royal Mail is sent details of new addresses and they then allocate postcodes.
If a property has been vacant for a while its address can sometimes be deleted from the Royal Mail’s system and no longer have an official postcode. If so please contact us and we will arrange for the address to be reinstated by the Royal Mail.
Renaming and numbering of existing properties is a chargable service. For further information please follow the link to Council's policy.
